Get The Perfect Pout With Lip Filler

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, which means it’s time to get the perfect pout with lip filler! Make sure your lips are kissable just in time for the most romantic day of the year. Here’s what you need to know about enhancing your lips with Restylane and Juvederm.

You’ve probably heard the myths: it’s incredibly painful, lip filler always looks unnatural, it’s unsafe it’s too expensive— the list goes on. We’re here to put the myths to rest and educate you about the realities of lip filler

To start, lip filler is painful, so that one’s not totally a myth. After all, at the end of the day it’s a needle going into a very sensitive area on the body. However, patients are given a numbing cream prior to treatment to help minimize the pain. It may not eliminate the pain entirely, but it makes the procedure as comfortable as possible for our patients. Additionally, you’ll be provided with ice post-treatment for a continued numbing effect. Lip filler won’t feel like a massage, but it’s also not going to rank a ten on the pain scale, either.

When it comes to the results, your injector matters. Just like it’s the painter’s skill, not the paint itself, creating a work of art, think of your face as the canvas. Once you find someone you trust and whose results you like the look of, you don’t have to worry about the dreaded duck pout. Our master injectors and aestheticians are trained to give you a subtle (or not so subtle, if you prefer) look that fits with your desired aesthetic.

Still, we recommend that you start small and work your way up as you grow more confident and more comfortable with the process. Building up also ensures that you don’t go from thin-lipped to drastically plump right away. This is key for having natural results.

As for any safety concerns, we’re here to clear the air: The main ingredient is filler is hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is naturally-occurring in the body already. It holds water and helps keep the skin hydrated and plump. Injected, it has the ability to  alter the shape, structure, and volume of your lips. As time goes on, the hyaluronic acid is metabolized and absorbed by our system. Once the treatment wears off, your lips will look the same as they did prior to the injection.

Both Restylane and Juvederm are great options for your lip injections. Although they are both made up primarily of HA, Juvéderm may work slightly more quickly and, in some cases, may last longer. However, they have similar long-lasting results, and we’ll determine the best choice for you in-office.

Finally, while lip filler can be pricey, it’s also an investment. Depending on how much filler you get, and your personal makeup, results from lip filler can last up to a year. This means you might be paying big on the front end, but think of the injection as an investment in you. It’s not a procedure that needs to be done frequently and with financing available, you can treat yourself without blowing your bank out.
