About Dr. Fazilat

Dr. Shahin Fazilat is the visionary founder and lead surgeon of SF Bay Area Plastic Surgery, bringing over two decades of exceptional experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland at College Park with honors, Dr. Fazilat obtained his Medical Doctorate from Howard University College of Medicine, graduating in the top quarter of his class. He completed general surgery training at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He specialized in plastic surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons/Harlem Hospital Center in New York.

Dr. Fazilat participated in highly competitive research programs throughout his education and training, including The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Fellowship Program. He has authored and co-authored over a dozen publications. He advanced his expertise with cosmetic fellowships at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia, and Stanford University, focusing on micro/reconstructive surgery and hand surgery.

Currently, Dr. Fazilat serves as an adjunct faculty/clinical instructor at Stanford University in the Division of Plastic Surgery, where he is involved in training plastic surgery residents and is an examiner for their annual plastic surgery board review course. Dr. Fazilat maintains operating privileges at El Camino Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Sequoia Hospital, and numerous Bay Area surgery centers. His practice in Mountain View, California, specializes in cosmetic surgery for the breast, body, and face, as well as hand and reconstructive plastic surgery. Common procedures include breast augmentation, abdominoplasties, liposuction, body lifts, Mommy Makeovers, post-weight-loss surgery, and breast reconstruction.

Dr. Fazilat is passionate about building long-term relationships with his patients, many of whom return for multiple procedures over the years, trusting him to accompany them through various phases of their lives. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Fazilat is committed to giving back to the community by providing surgical reconstructive procedures to the underserved.
